There is nothing quite like being transported, as if magically, to a far off exotic place. This is exactly what happened at the Charity Dinner for Ivy Child International that I recently had the privilege of photographing. It was a night full of amazing food, gorgeous dancing, and wonderful people, all coming together for a great cause.
Ivy Child International is a charitable organization that is dedicated to “helping each child achieve their best.” They strive to enhance the social and emotional well-being of children by recognizing their multicultural needs, using education and positive psychology as a uniting force to inspire resilience and leadership.
This benefit was anything but run-of-the-mill however. We were joined by the Consul General of India and also enjoyed a delectable 21 course Southern-Indian meal. Chef Asha Gomez created an amazing traditional vegetarian feast, or Sadya, inspired by the spices of Kerala, India that delighted the eyes as well as the palate. There was a silent auction followed by dancing that was both beautiful, and a blast.
I invite you to come with me for a little part of the journey. Take a look at the pictures, allow yourself to drift off into the beautiful movements, and take a look into Ivy Child International at http://ivychild.org.
